Key Findings
Students in schools using enVision® Mathematics significantly outperformed students in schools using other math programs on the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment system in California. The mean percentage of students proficient in math for the enVision Mathematics schools was 7.1 percentage points greater than the control schools. This quasi-experimental study meets ESSA Level 2 standards.
Study Description
The study examined if enVision Mathematics K-8 is associated with higher math performance on the mathematics section of the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment system by comparing schools using enVision Mathematics to closely matched control schools using other math programs. A total of 344 enVision Mathematics and 344 control schools in California were represented in the sample in third to eighth grade. The final sample was diverse, including:
